A beautiful day, perfect for playing games with friends…

Qwirkle – such a lovely, colourful and clever game – strategies from Scrabble without the need to remember a dictionary of words. Glad you finally got to play it, Melvin!

Tsuro – still one of the lightest, most convenient ice-breaker games. The rules are so simple and the game takes up to 8 players! We’ve been considering trying a speed version!! 😀

Rummikub excitement! 🙂

Logo The Board Game – unexpectedly very popular (at least amongst Australians – it’s all about Australian ads and products) … Some of you folks are absolute guns at this – we should take some names down and have a championship game!! This game feels quite refreshing when played after more intense games, and has quite a “gameshow” feel.

Kaleidos … think Eye-Spy or “Where’s Wally?” Each player has a copy of the same crowded artwork and has to find as many objects beginning with the given letter as they can – more points for hard to find items!

FUNemployed … a bunch of weird people with weird attributes walk into the job office and get interviewed for a job … who can spin the best stories about why they should get the job? Funemployed game review video by Actualol

Cards Against Humanity – the hype is beginning to wane, but there’s still a bunch of die-hard players who are always keen to introduce new folks to this silly, rude game!

Resistance Avalon – the modern psychological classic of secret allegiances and unexpected betrayals. Available in either mediaeval or sci-fi flavours 🙂

Once upon a time, it was just Godzilla stomping on Tokyo, but now the city is swarming with giant monsters. Can you be the biggest, baddest, weirdest? The King of Tokyo ?

“Bubble, bubble, toil and trouble!” Three witches keep their cauldrons bubbling full of potions and Poison (by famous designer Reiner Knizia)

Notre Dame – Who can run the finest, least plague-ridden quarter of Paris?

If you’re a fan of Werewolf, Bang, or Resistance/Avalon – try out Shadow Hunters. Everyone has a secret supernatural identity, and you’re not sure from the start who else is on your team, but there are ways that you can find it out. You also all have a unique special ability – but of course as soon as you use it, everyone will know which side you’re on!

The bizarreness and beauty of Dixit
If you don’t know this lovely game, it uses a deck of cards in which each card has a different surreal artwork on it … such as these:

Transport magnates monopolise Europe in Ticket to Ride

The noble Lords of Waterdeep

… and at the same time – two more Lords of Waterdeep games!

Rounding off the evening with a bracing game of Upwords.
Word of the day: WHELK (a kind of edible sea snail, can also be spelled WELK)

See you tomorrow, folks! ~ Christopher
